Mining potential and process
Mining potential
La Granja is one of the largest undeveloped copper deposits in the world. The current drill-inferred mineral inventory is 2.8 billion tonnes at 0.51 per cent copper and 0.11 per cent zinc, based on a 0.3 per cent copper cut-off grade.
Mining process
We are undertaking a study aimed at demonstrating the feasibility of recovering the copper metal at La Granja using leaching of copper from whole ore, with solvent extraction and electrowinning. Other processing options, however, have not been discounted and are also being evaluated.
Filling the holes of orebody knowledge
We are currently drilling to discover the full extent of the orebody. During this stage, we are building on our geochemical, lithological, geotechnical, hydrogeological, metallurgical, and geochemical knowledge of La Granja.
